Laylat al-Bara'ah, also known as the Night of Forgiveness or the Night of Absolution, is observed on the 15th day of the month of Sha'ban in the Islamic lunar calendar. This event has special significance for Muslims and is associated with spiritual purification and repentance.

Spiritual Significance
Forgiveness of Sins. Laylat al-Bara'ah is considered the night when Allah forgives the sins of those who sincerely repent and ask for forgiveness. It is a time when believers seek to purify their souls and strengthen their faith.

Determining Destiny. According to tradition, on this night, Allah determines each person's destiny for the coming year, including matters of life, death, wealth, and health.

Prayers and Good Deeds. Muslims perform extra prayers (nafil) and read the Quran, spending time in prayer, reflection, and good deeds. This night is often dedicated to especially intense worship.

Celebration Traditions
Prayers. On this night, many Muslims gather in mosques or pray at home to ask for forgiveness and blessings. Extra night prayers are especially common.

Reading the Quran. People read the Quran, especially the suras that speak of forgiveness and Allah's mercy.

Donations and Charity. It is important to do good deeds, help those in need, and participate in charity events on this day.

Family Gatherings. Some cultures have traditions associated with gatherings of family and friends to discuss spiritual values, pray, and do helpful activities.
